South Kyme Golf Club in Lincolnshire provides golfers with a stunning backdrop and state-of-the-art facilities, with Exclusive Leisure working alongside the club to develop the site further.
Established in 1990, South Kyme Golf Club was transformed by Ted Mablethorpe, who converted 136 acres of family-held farm into the basis of the excellent course seen today; a Par 72 course boasting a challenging total of 6,566 yards across its entirety. In 1998, South Kyme Golf Club was purchased by its members, with a number of developments taking place since.
One of those developments was provided by Exclusive Leisure after we were approached to provide advice on the installation of a double-bay practice net, along with Tiger-T golf mats, within South Kyme Golf Club’s 250-yard long practice ground, where members are able to practice free-of-charge.
Course changes have occurred year-on-year since the takeover of the club, with developments to the course’s 12th, 13th and 14th hole responsible for increasing the total distance of the course by 71 yards. In addition, new fairway bunkers have been added to the first and fourth hole, with a raised competition tee installed on the fourth.
“The Exclusive Leisure contracts department were extremely helpful in discussing all our requirements,” said South Kyme Club Captain, Wayne Sexton.
“After placing our order, their team were on site on the day specified. The job was completed in the timescale promised and the installation team were both extremely courteous and very tidy during the course of work being carried out. The facility has since been very well received by our members for the quality of the workmanship once the installation had been completed.”
“We at South Kyme Golf Club would have no hesitation in recommending Exclusive Leisure for any future works.”
