Artificial Cricket Surfaces
Our History
Exclusive Leisure developed and installed our first Cricketweave facility at Loughborough University in 1980. It was one of the first artificial grass surfaces to be laid as a dedicated cricket surface.
An essential part of our history included the participation of the late Tom Graveney, former England Test Cricketer and President of the MCC. Tom gave us a cricketer’s perspective on the ideal bounce and speed we should aim to produce from the surface and the result was our ‘T’ Base macadam base system, which provided the performance standards we required as well as eliminating the need for the costly maintenance and servicing required by unbound stone base systems similar to our ‘Hard Porous’ base.
In 2009, we achieved the ECB ‘NTP (Non-Turf Pitch) Code of Practice’ status and we have also become the official installer of artificial match pitches for Chance to Shine, the single biggest school sport development initiative ever undertaken in Britain.
We also manufacture our own cricket cages which enables us to offer more competitive prices.
