Over the past 10 years, Ashington Cricket Club has produced three first-class cricketers and two Ashes winners, so Exclusive Leisure Limited was naturally delighted to work with the club that launched the careers of the Harmison brothers, Steve and Ben, and Mark Wood.

Exclusive Leisure Limited were tasked with installing a double practice bay facility, both utilising the ‘T’ Base surface which provides accurate pace and bounce for cricketers wishing to replicate playing conditions.

Opened in June 2016 by the Harmison brothers and Mark Wood, the nets will now serve to benefit established players at the club, as well as younger players from the wider community.

Adam Nichol, Junior Co-ordinator at Ashington Cricket Club, was delighted with the service the club received and the quality of the final product.

“One of the things we struggled with was junior training,” he said. “With the weather as it is in the north of England, sometimes we struggled to get something on for the younger players. With the new facility, whatever the weather, the players can still train. We went to three or four organisations who would build the nets, and Exclusive Leisure were by far and away the outstanding company that we wanted to work with.

“They were professional from the offset, they knew exactly what our budget allowed us to do, and they were fantastic throughout the build. Their reputation certainly preceded them. As a club, we wanted to put our trust in them and the professionalism from Adam Brown and the team that installed the nets made us feel comfortable from the start. You want to ensure that the product provides value for money and quality, and Exclusive Leisure certainly delivered that.
