Tennis Court Lighting
Tennis Court Lighting
When lighting a tennis court, the objective is to ensure good visibility enabling both players and spectators to follow the progress of a game. The ball, regardless of its location and speed, should always be clearly visible.
LED tennis lights are specifically designed to illuminate tennis courts for nighttime play. They provide bright and even lighting, enhancing visibility for both players and spectators. The lights are typically mounted on columns around the court perimeter to ensure optimal coverage and minimal glare.
Installing LED sports lighting can significantly enhance visibility, energy efficiency, and durability compared to traditional lighting systems like halogen or metal halide lights.
Things to consider
Colour Temperature: Decide on the colour temperature of the LED lights – the preference for LED tennis court lighting is 4000K (neutral white), although 2700K or 3000K (warm white) may have to be used in contentious planning areas. 5700K (cool white) is also available.
Brightness: Consider the brightness level required – Do you require 500 lux to meet the LTA’s recommended standard, or 400 lux to meet the LTA’s minimum standard. In some parks or contentious planning areas, a recreational standard of 300 lux may be sufficient.
Dimming Capability: Determine if you want the LED lights to be dimmable, which can provide flexibility and energy savings.
Energy Efficiency: Energy-efficient LED lights will reduce electricity consumption and operating costs.
Installation: Exclusive Leisure will carry out the complete design & installation of your lighting system, including all civils works and electrical testing.
Budget: We can advise budget costs for your new LED lighting project/LED upgrade, so that you can discuss whether it is worthwhile and affordable.
Aesthetics: Consider the aesthetic appeal of the LED lights and how they will complement the overall design – Philips LED lights are a well-designed fitting that will look great in any environment.
Longevity: Look for LED lights with a long lifespan to minimise maintenance and replacement costs over time – Philips LED lights are all rated for 100,000 hours.
